Name:
Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age: Miocene
Formation: River Deposits
Location: South Carolina
Size: Tooth is 5.2 inches long
Here is a very large fossil shark tooth from South Carolina. This is Carcharocles megalodon from the Miocene River Deposits. This tooth has a very solid, robust root, and the enamel is excellent on both sides of the tooth. The tooth exhibits VERY sharp, nicely defined serrations and a sharp, pointed tip - both the serrations and tip are practically flawless. Overall, this is one of the better "Meg" teeth we've ever had. It is a wonderfully preserved tooth from the ancient version of "Jaws".
