Name:
Carcharocles megalodon
Age: Miocene
Formation: Calvert
Location: Chesapeake Bay, Maryland
Size: Tooth is almost 3 inches long
This is a very nice fossil tooth. It is a Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from Maryland. Megalodon teeth from Maryland are very scarce. This specimen came from a collection, and was found over 10 years ago. The tooth has great natural color. The serrations are razor-sharp, and the root is excellent. The tip is a little worn, but it doesn't detract from the overall look of the tooth. This is a very nice fossil shark tooth from an extinct White Shark.
