Here is a very unusual shark tooth from North Carolina. This is a beautiful Carcharocles chubutensis (Carcharocles subauriculatus) tooth from the Pungo River Formation. This distinct "Meg" tooth is quite long, has a substantial root, and has both small cusps still intact. The large serrations are nicely intact and razor sharp. The tooth has very interesting color - the green-grey enamel is quite striking. This is a very cool example of this highly uncommon "Meg" tooth.
