EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Hawthorn Formation
Location:  South Carolina
Size:  Tooth is 3.3 inches long

This is a very fine Extinct White Shark (Carcharocles megalodon) tooth from the Miocene of South Carolina. This Meg tooth is very detailed and has the classic ''arrowhead'' shape intact. The sharp serrations are easily seen, and the tip is intact and pointed. The natural color is quite striking, and the back side of the tooth is also nice - both sides display very well. This is a beautiful fossil Meg tooth from the ancient version of "Jaws".
