This is a very fine fossilized Great White Shark tooth. It is a distinct Carcharodon carcharias tooth from the Miocene of South Carolina. This species is the same type as today's modern Great White Shark. This specimen is very well preserved and exhibits very fine detail. The root of the tooth is quite solid and robust. The large, SHARP serrations are easily seen, and the tip is nicely pointed. The enamel has great natural coloration. This is a very nice example of an uncommon Great White Shark tooth fossil from South Carolina.
