Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age: Miocene
Formation: Hawthorn Formation
Location: South Carolina
Size: Tooth is 5 inches long
Here is a very fine, large fossil shark tooth from South Carolina. This is a beautiful Carcharocles megalodon from the Miocene River Deposits. This large tooth has a very solid and substantial root, and the razor-sharp serrations are easily seen on both sides of the tooth. The tip of the tooth exhibits some feeding damage, which is quite cool. This tooth also has fabulous natural color and is very thick and 3-dimensional. The shiny enamel is well preserved on both sides of the robust tooth. And at five inches long, it is a very impressive fossil tooth. This is a very collectible specimen of a fossilized shark tooth from the ancient version of ''Jaws''.
