Stock Number  STSCM725
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Hawthorn Formation
Location:  South Carolina
Size:  Tooth is 3.65 inches long

This is a nice Extinct White Shark (Carcharocles megalodon) tooth from the Miocene of South Carolina. This Meg tooth is very robust and has the classic ''arrowhead'' shape intact. The enamel is naturally black and very well displayed. The serrations are worn, but still present on part of the tooth, and the root is quite thick and robust. The other side of the tooth is also nice - both sides display very well. This is a cool fossil Meg tooth, from the ancient version of ''Jaws''.
