EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Hawthorn Formation
Location:  South Carolina
Size:  Tooth is 3 inches long

Here is a very fine fossil shark tooth. This is a very sharp Carcharocles megalodon tooth from South Carolina. This distinct tooth has great natural color and has the classic "arrowhead" shape well displayed. The shiny enamel is well preserved on both sides of the robust tooth. The serrations are extremely sharp, the root is quite substantial, and the tip is present and not chipped or broken. This is a very cool specimen of a fossilized shark tooth from the ancient version of ''Jaws''.
