EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Otodus obliquus tooth
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Phosphate Beds
Location:  Khouribga Basin, Morocco
Size:  Tooth is 2.7 inches long

Here is a wonderful fossil shark tooth. This is a beautiful Otodus obliquus tooth from the Eocene of Morocco. This exceptional tooth is quite large - almost three inches long! The root of the tooth is extremely robust, and both of the large cusps on the sides of the tooth are preserved and well displayed. The tooth has great enamel detail, and the tip of the tooth and both cutting edges are quite sharp.  Both sides of the large tooth are well preserved and wonderfully showcased. This is an excellent example of an Extinct Mackerel shark tooth from North Africa.
