Stock Number  STSCMX21
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  River Deposits
Location:  South Carolina
Size:  Tooth is 4.85 inches long.

This is a very large (almost FIVE inches long!) Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from the Miocene of South Carolina. The root of the tooth is very large and robust. The middle part of the tooth has been polished for optimal display. The tooth displays the classic ''arrowhead'' shape very well. It has beautiful serrations intact and a very slightly rounded tip. This is a distinct example of a very large fossil shark tooth from South Carolina.
