EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Calvert Formation
Location:  Chesapeake Bay, Maryland
Size:  Tooth is 3.45 inches long

This is a beautiful fossil tooth. It is a Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from Maryland(?). This specimen came from the Eugene Thomas Collection, and was found by Eugene many years ago. He only collected shark teeth he found himself, and he only collected at Calvert in MD and Lee Creek Aurora in NC. This distinct tooth has beautiful blond coloration, fully natural. The serrations and tip are in very nice shape and razor-sharp. The overall presentation of this tooth is wonderful. This is a cool example of a classic fossil shark tooth from Maryland or NC.
