Stock Number  STSCM909
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  River Deposits
Location:  South Carolina
Size:  Tooth is 5.45 inches long

This is a very large (almost five and a half inches long!) Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene River Deposits of South Carolina. The huge root of this tooth is very solid and substantial. The tooth has great form - the classic triangular shape of the tooth is quite evident. There is some enamel missing from the tooth, and the tooth is almost 5 inches wide. This is a very impressive tooth from this ancient version of ''Jaws''.
