Long Fossil Great White Shark Tooth from Chile

Name:   Carcharodon carcharias (Fossil Great White Tooth)
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Huarra Formation
Location:  Atacama Desert, Chile
Size:  Tooth is almost 2 inches long

This is a very nice fossilized Great White Shark tooth. It is a long Carcharodon carcharias tooth from the Miocene of Chile. This species is the same type as today's modern Great White Shark. This specimen is very well preserved and exhibits very fine detail. The root of the tooth is quite solid and robust. The tip of the tooth is intact, and the SHARP serrations are easily seen. This is a very colorful example of a large Great White Shark tooth fossil from South America.
