EXTINCTIONS Choice - Large Virginia Meg Tooth
Stock Number  STVCM301
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age:  Miocene
Formation:  Eastover Formation
Location:  Middlesex County, Virginia
Size:  Tooth is 4.75 inches long

This is a stunning shark tooth that we recently acquired from a major shark tooth collection. It is a large Carcharocles megalodon tooth, found near the mouth of the Rappahanock River in Virginia. The tooth is quite robust and very heavy. The root of the tooth is complete and very solid. The sharp serrations are clearly defined, and the very tip of the tooth is well displayed. The tooth has the classic wide, arrowhead-like shape. Both the enamel and root of this tooth are dark-colored, giving the tooth a bold look. Both sides of the tooth display beautifully. This is a highly collectible shark tooth from an unusual location.
