This is a very unusual shark tooth fossil. It is a complete Carcharocles auriculatus tooth from the Eocene of North Africa. This shark was the first in the line of sharks that evolved into Carcharocles megalodon. This tooth has a very solid and substantial root. Both cusps of the tooth are intact and beautifully displayed. The serrations are clearly defined, and the very tip of the tooth is also extremely sharp. The glossy enamel of the tooth is beautifully preserved and has gorgeous, natural coloration. Both sides of the tooth are quite attractive. This is a great specimen of this extremely rare shark tooth from Morocco.
