Carcharodon carcharias (Fossil Great White Tooth)
Age: Miocene
Formation: Huarra Formation
Location: Atacama Desert, Chile
Size: Tooth is about 2 inches long
This is a fine fossilized Great White Shark tooth. It is a large Carcharodon carcharias tooth from the Miocene of Chile. This species is the same type as today's modern Great White Shark. This specimen is very well preserved and exhibits very fine detail. The root of the tooth is quite solid and robust. The large, SHARP serrations are easily seen. The enamel has gorgeous, natural coloration. There is even a small amount of sandstone still encrusted on the root of the backside of the tooth. This is a nice example of a Great White Shark tooth fossil from South America.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
