Location: Telegraph Hill, Kern County, California

This is a very nice fossil from an unusual locality. It is a large Cosmopolitodus (Isurus) hastalis (Mako) shark tooth from California. This specimen is NOT from the famous "Shark Tooth Hill" collecting locality, it is from "Telegraph Hill", which has been closed for some time. This specimen was found in the 1960's, and has been in a collection ever since. The tooth has great shape, very nice detail preserved, and beautiful natural color. The tooth is still embedded in a large chunk of natural matrix. This is a very nice example of a Mako shark tooth from a classic locality. (Collection label is included)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
