EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Otodus obliquus Tooth
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Phosphate Beds
Location:  Khouribga Basin, Morocco
Size:  Tooth is 2.35 inches long

Here is a nice fossil shark tooth. This is a beautiful Otodus obliquus tooth from the Eocene of Morocco. This tooth is very detailed - the root of the tooth is extremely robust. The tooth has great enamel and both of the small cusps on the side of the tooth are intact. The majority of the tooth is still embedded in the large plate of matrix. The tooth is well preserved and wonderfully displayed. This is an excellent example of an Extinct Mackerel shark tooth encased in matrix.
