Here is a very fine fossil shark tooth from South Carolina. This is a large Carcharocles megalodon from the Miocene River Deposits. This colorful tooth has a very solid, substantial root, and the sharp serrations are easily seen on both sides of the tooth. The tip of the tooth is intact and exhibits almost no wear. This tooth also has great natural color and is very thick and 3-dimensional. The shiny enamel is well preserved on both sides of the robust tooth. And at almost five inches long, it is a very impressive fossil. This is a very collectible specimen of a fossilized shark tooth from the ancient version of ''Jaws''. (White streaks on the tooth are in the photo, not on the tooth.)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
