Name:
Carcharocles megalodon Tooth
Age: Miocene
Formation: River Deposits
Location: South Carolina
Size: Tooth is 4.4 inches long
This is an excellent specimen of a Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene deposits of South Carolina. The entire tooth is very solid and substantial, and the shiny enamel is wonderfully preserved on both sides of the tooth. The sharp serrations are clearly defined, and the root of the tooth is almost perfect. The tooth has outstanding, natural color, and both sides display very well (colorized effect was naturally achieved by laying the tooth on a scanner!). This is a great example of a large Extinct Giant White Shark tooth.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
