Name:
Carcharodon carcharias (Fossil Great White Tooth)
Age: Miocene

Location: Atacama Desert, Chile
Size: Tooth is almost 2 inches long
This is a nice fossilized Great White Shark tooth. It is a fine Carcharodon carcharias tooth from the Miocene of Chile. This species is the same type as today's modern Great White Shark. This specimen is very well preserved and exhibits very great detail. The root of the tooth is quite solid and robust. The serrations are razor sharp and very easily seen. The enamel has gorgeous, natural coloration, and both sides of the tooth display wonderfully. This is an excellent example of a Great White Shark tooth fossil from South America.
