This is a very large (over five inches long) Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene River Deposits of South Carolina. The huge root of this tooth is very solid and substantial. The tooth has great form - the classic triangular shape of the tooth is quite evident. The dark grey enamel is nicely intact and has been polished on one side for optimal display. Both sides of the tooth display very well. This is a very impressive tooth from this ancient version of ''Jaws''.
