This is a beautiful fossil shark tooth. It is a large Carcharocles megalodon (Extinct Giant White Shark) tooth from the Atacama Desert of Chile. This specimen is quite impressive and is in great shape. The tooth is naturally embedded in a large block of solid, pebbled sandstone - the tooth sits up strikingly on its natural stone base. The tooth itself is wonderfully preserved and displays beautifully. The color and detail are excellent. And, wow, just look at those serrations! Not only is this a large, colorful fossil shark tooth, it is a sharply serrated tooth still preserved in a solid block of rock. You can't get much more collectible than that!
