Name:
Otodus obliquus Tooth
Age: Eocene
Formation: Phosphate Beds
Location: Morocco
Size: Tooth is 3.1 inches long
This is a very unusual fossil shark tooth. It is a large Otodus obliquus tooth from the Eocene of Morocco. This tooth is still encased in the sandstone block in which it was found - it has never been ''popped out''. The tooth has great enamel, and both cusps are intact and beautifully displayed. The root of the tooth is also very solid and substantial. This is a very fine example of this Extinct Mackerel shark tooth still embedded in its original matrix block.
