Name:
Carcharodon carcharias (Fossil Great White Tooth)
Age: Miocene

Location: Atacama Desert, Chile
Size: Tooth is 2.1 inches long
This is a fine specimen of a fossil Great White Shark tooth. It is a Carcharodon carcharias tooth from the Miocene of Chile. This species is the same type as today's modern Great White Shark, ''Jaws''. The root is very solid and robust, and the enamel has great color and is well preserved. The sharp serrations are beautifully displayed, and the very tip of the tooth is intact. Both sides of the tooth are extremely nice. This is an excellent example of a ''true'' Fossil Great White Shark tooth from South America.
