Beautiful Mako Shark Tooth from Chile

Location:  Atacama Desert, Chile
Size:  Tooth is 1.9 inches long

This is a beautiful fossil shark tooth. It is an Isurus sp. (Mako) tooth from the Miocene of Chile. This specimen is beautifully preserved for a Mako. The tooth has a very solid and substantial root. The enamel has great natural coloration - a reddish-orange tint. Both sides of the tooth are very ''clean'' and display wonderfully. This is an excellent fossil Mako tooth from the Chilean Desert.
