Location: Atacama Desert, Chile
Size: Tooth is 4.2 inches long
This is simply a beautiful fossil shark tooth. It is a large Carcharocles megalodon (Extinct Giant White Shark) tooth from the Atacama Desert of Chile. This specimen is large and impressive - over four inches long. The tooth is naturally embedded in a large block of solid, pebbled sandstone - the tooth sits over three inches high on its natural stone base. The tooth itself is three-dimensionally preserved and displays beautifully. The color and detail are exquisite. And the serrations and tip of the tooth are both wonderfully intact. Not only is this a large, colorful fossil shark tooth, it is a sharply serrated tooth preserved in a solid block of rock. You can't get much more displayable than that!
