This is a beautiful fossil shark tooth. It is a Hemipristis serra (Snaggletooth Shark) tooth from Calvert Cliffs, Maryland. This specimen was acquired from an old collection. This tooth is large and has a very solid and substantial root. The enamel is beautifully preserved and has great natural coloration. Both sides of the tooth are very clean, and the serrations display wonderfully. This is an excellent fossil Hemipristis tooth from the upper jaw.
