Pennsylvanian Shark Egg Case in Concretion
Stock Number  STEGG04

Name:   Shark Egg Capsule
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Braidwood Formation
Location:  Johnson County, Missouri
Size:  Concretion is 3.75 inches long

This is a very unusual fossil. It is a fossilized shark egg capsule from the Pennsylvanian of Missouri. The fossil is preserved in a siderite concretion, and both halves of the concretion are intact. The egg capsule has fine detail and good color and contrast. This is an extremely nice specimen of a very interesting fossil. No true shark collection is complete without a fossil shark egg case.
