Carcharodon carcharias (Great White Shark Tooth)

This is a very impressive Great White Shark tooth. It is from the modern Great White Shark, Carcharodon carcharias. This is the famous shark that terrorizes swimmers every year, and is immortalized in the movie, ''Jaws''. This tooth is an upper, having the classic thick, triangular shape. The serrations and tip are razor-sharp and perfectly intact - it is easy to see how a mouth full of these teeth can do so much damage. This is a very fine example of a modern Great White Shark tooth.
