This is a large fossil Mako tooth. It is an Isurus xiphodon tooth from Virginia. This specimen was acquired from a major shark collection. The tooth is large for a Mako - almost three inches long! The tooth has great enamel preserved and wonderful natural coloration. This is a very collectible tooth from a rare species of Mako shark.
