This is an EXTREMELY LARGE (well over 6 inches!) Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene river deposits of South Carolina. The huge root of this tooth is very solid and substantial. The tooth has great form - the classic triangular shape of the tooth is quite evident. One side of the tooth has been left in the natural condition, while the other side of the tooth has been highly polished for a more spectacular display. And everyone knows (or should) how collectible 6"+ Meg teeth are!This is a massive and very impressive tooth from this ancient version of ''Jaws''.
