This is a very nice shark tooth from a very unusual location. It is a large Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Calvert Formation of Virginia. This tooth came from a major shark tooth collection. Both the enamel and root of this tooth are blond, giving the tooth the classic ''Calvert'' look. The serrations are intact and extremely sharp, and the tip of the tooth is present, yet not perfect. The back side of the tooth also displays beautifully. This is a very collectible fossil shark tooth from a very desirable locality.
