Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Phosphate Beds
Location:  Khouribga Basin, Morocco
Size:  Tooth is 2.65 inches long

This is a very unusual fossil shark tooth. It is a pathological Otodus obliquus tooth from the Eocene of Morocco. The tooth has a very deformed blade, with the tip actually curved into a hook! This unique feature is a very rare occurrence in the fossil record. Both cusps are still intact and the root is quite bulbous and deformed. And the fact that the tooth is not symmetrical gives it even more character. This is a highly collectible shark tooth that is distinctly pathological.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
