This is a great example of an uncommon US shark tooth. It is an excellent Carcharocles angustidens - extinct precursor to the giant Carcharocles megalodon. This cool tooth is in beautiful condition, with the enamel wonderfully preserved. The large serrations and cusps are easily seen, and the root is quite robust. The natural color of this tooth is quite beautiful. And the other side of the tooth displays well, also. This is a very nice example of this unusual fossil shark tooth.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
