Here is a fabulous fossil shark tooth from South Carolina. This is a large Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene River Deposits. This tooth is quite distinct and has the classic arrowhead shape intact. The root is very solid and substantial, and the large serrations and tip are sharp and beautifully displayed. The glossy enamel is well preserved, and the greyish-blue tint is quite striking. The other side of the tooth also displays beautifully. This is an excellent example of a large tooth (five inches long) from this extinct giant white shark.
