This is a very large (over five inches long!) Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene River Deposits of South Carolina. The huge root of this tooth is very solid and substantial. The tooth has great form - the classic triangular shape of the tooth is quite evident. The distinct serrations are sharp and easily seen, and the tip on the tooth is nicely intact. What a display - the natural coloration of the enamel is simply beautiful. This is a very impressive tooth from this ancient version of ''Jaws''. (The white spots are in the photo, not on the tooth.)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
