Uncommon Mako Tooth from Kazakhstan

Here is a very unusual Mako Shark tooth. This is a large Isurus cosmopolitanus tooth from the Eocene of Kazakhstan. Isurus cosmopolitanus was an extinct precursor of the modern day Mako Shark. This tooth is quite long and has a very solid root. The enamel is beautifully preserved, and the sharp tip of the tooth is nicely showcased. Both sides of the tooth display well. This is a beautiful example of an early Mako tooth from Kazakhstan.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
